Thanks to all of the volunteers who said they could help with our Edmonds 2014 Bike To Work Day commute station this Friday, May 16th for our station setup and meeting/greeting bike commuters. We will be located on the recently opened Copper Pot Indian Bar & Grill’s outdoor patio (formerly Skippers, formerly Vatika). Our Bike To Work Day commute station schedule is listed below:
- Unpack vehicles & setup station – 5:15-6am
- Meet/greet commuters – 6-9am
- Site clean-up, packing & load vehicles – 9-10am
- Our BTWD celebration ride departs from the PCC-Edmonds parking lot at 7:30am; our ride leader will be Bertrand Hauss, from the City of Edmonds Engineering Department. Prior to the ride departure, PCC will be providing coffee & scones in the produce section of their store.
Cascade Bicycle Club’s BTWD Coordinator has arranged for Gregg’s Cycle-Alderwood to provide bicycle mechanic assistance for our station this year.
Just Frogs Toads Too Amphibian Center on the Edmonds waterfront is providing tent, tables, and service items for our station.
B.I.K.E.S. Club is also providing assistance at our station with the setup and greeting commuters.
Bike Commuters: If you are riding your bike to work, please drop by to chat with us, and grab a hot cup of Starbucks coffee (from Edmonds downtown Starbucks coffee shop), and a PCC-Edmonds fresh bakery scone. We’ll also have other goodies, and you can sign up for the Cascade Bicycle Club prize drawings. The owner of the newly-opened Copper Pot Indian Bar & Grill has given me 20% off coupons to hand out on Bike To Work Day. He has extended their Grand Opening discount through the month of May. I’ve enjoyed dinner, drinks & appetizers at the Copper Pot already. If you have not yet eaten there, this is a good time to check it out and receive a nice discount.
