8/12/12 Update from Jan:
Peter Hallson, John Larpenteur, and myself setup & manned the EBAG table/tent at theEdmonds Night Out event last evening at the Frances Anderson Center play field. (Thanks again to Thayer, of the Just Frogs Foundation, for her tent loan!!!)
Last night, we 3 from EBAG had a chance to visit with many children and parents, and handout bike trail maps, CBC publications on bicycle safety, helmet fitting, etc, and to explain to parents about EBAG and what we do in our community, as well as to offer cloth book cover giveaways, and 2 back-to-school backpack/bag (1 boys & 1 girls), each filled with back-to-school supplies for our free drawing.
A little 5-year old boy named Noah (who is just starting kindergarten in the fall) and his dad came by our tent, and I chatted with them awhile last night…it turned out that Noah’s entry slip was the one that I drew for the black Adidas backpack prize. When I called today after the 2 winning entry slips were drawn, Noah’s dad said that Noah would be thrilled to hear the news when he tells him he won. A young girl named Taylor won the Capelli-NewYork fashion bag filled with school supplies, but I don’t recall if I personally met Taylor or not. Anyway, we had a great time last evening, and the turn-out at Edmonds Night Out was terrific once again.
I hope to see you at our next EBAG meeting, September 19th at 7:30pm. In the meanwhile, Happy & Safe Summer Cycling to you!
