Imagine your dream neighborhood. Does it have protected bike lanes, a connected trail system and streets that are safe for everyone? Mine does too. And that’s why I am working to make sure that vision becomes a reality — by being an advocate.
You can be an advocate for safe streets too.
But there are many people, just like you, that don’t know where to start. That’s why we are bringing Cascade’s leadership development program – the Advocacy Leadership Institute (ALI) to South Snohomish County. At ALI you will get to discuss local projects, brainstorm with your neighbors over lunch and learn key skills on how to advocate for bicycling.
We will be hosting a one day ALI session from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Swedish Edmonds (Third Floor Conference Room) on Sunday, Nov. 17. Interested in joining us? There is limited availability so sign up today: http://goo.gl/9bWXbR.
You’ve already shown us that you are committed to creating a more bikeable region and now we want you to join us at our first ALI in South Snohomish County so you can learn to lead the pack and make even more of an impact.
Without people like you pushing for things like protected bike lanes, greenways and safer intersections in your neighborhood, we’ll continue to fall behind other cities that are building streets that make bicycling safe and convenient for everyone.
At ALI you will meet and work closely with fellow advocates like yourself, Cascade staff, and many others who are working to build a better and more bike friendly South Snohomish County. We’re also bringing in the experts to share their knowledge of how to effectively create change.
Interested in leading the pack? Sign up here: http://goo.gl/YRFUVt.
ALI is a free program with lunch included. Do not hesitate to respond with any questions. This is going to be a fantastic event that you won’t want to miss.
