Please see the attached message to EBAG Co-Chair, Peter Hallson, from Ryann Child with information about the upcoming June 12th evening “bike audit” ride that Cascade Bicycle Club is planning with cyclists & city staff in our area (Edmonds, Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace). This is your chance to participate and voice your opinion about cycling in our area. You also might enjoy the early evening bike ride with other cyclists who you may or may may yet know.
If you’d like to participate in the study ride, and share your thoughts about what you would like to see to improve bicycling in our area, read the attached email, and contact Ryann Child (at Cascade).
Important Note: There is a need to R.S.V.P. to Ryann, since they must limit the ride to twenty attendees.
I believe Tessa mentioned to you before she left that Cascade is planning a bike audit in Edmonds, Lynnwood and Mountlake Terrace for June as part of our work funded by a grant from the Verdant Health Commission. I’m leading the planning for the audit and I wanted to update you on the information so that you can promote the study ride through EBAG’s resources if possible. Additionally, I am still looking for a few more ride leaders to help lead the ride. If you are interested in being one, please let me know as soon as possible. If not, you are still welcome to attend the ride as a participant; we would love your input.
Below is some information on the audit. Please feel free to forward what I wrote to invite members of EBAG to join us on the route. The ride will be limited to 20 participants, so I do ask that everyone R.S.V.P. to me that they are attending so that we do not overwhelm the ride leaders and ensure a safe and manageable group size.
South Snohomish County Bike Audit: accessing bicycle access to transit
Do you live, work, play and bike in South Snohomish County? Join Cascade Bicycle Club on a community bike audit this June as we ride through sections of Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace and Edmonds and identify along the way challenges and opportunities for bicycling. Lead by certified Cascade Ride Leaders, the route will examine bicycle access to transit; focusing on the Lynnwood Transit Center and the Mountlake Terrace Park-and-Ride, as both sites are proposed stops on Sound Transit’s Lynnwood Link Extension project. The ride has a few planned discussion stops for participants to record and voice their thoughts and recommendations along the ride, and hear directly from city staff about upcoming projects and further opportunities for community engagement. The ride will be followed by an hour of discussion at Alfy’s Pizza in Lynnwood for those that wish to continue the conversation about what you would like to see on the streets in your community. Remember, you’re the expert in your neighborhood. A study ride is a great chance to share your vision for bicycling in your community, and have a little fun pedaling in the process.
