FYI – Don Fiene & Teresa Lawson, who rode with us on our EBAG June group ride, are both training to do the Obliteride 2013 on August 10 to raise funds for fighting cancer… they each have their own interesting story about why they are training on their bikes and planning to do this ride. I think it’s pretty neat that 100% of funds raised for this event will go directly into research (not into admin costs, etc).
EBAG will again have a tent/table setup for Edmonds Night Out, which will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, 5-8pm at the Frances Anderson Field. If you are in town & want to check out this event, stop by & say hi to us. We will have brochures & information to hand out to folks who stop by, as well as answer any questions that folks might have about the Basics of Bicycling program in the Edmonds School District. Our handouts will include:
- Snohomish County bike trail maps
- Cascade Bicycle Club coloring books, pamphlets & information on bike & helmet safety, traffic, etc (intended for children & their parents)
- “Curb The Congestion” Rewards Program brochures (Curb the Congestion is a partnership between Community Transit and Snohomish County to reduce traffic and encourage healthy travel options on congested roadways. The program is funded by Snohomish County through development mitigation fees and federal grants. The program is operated by Community Transit. Ride the bus, carpool, vanpool, bike or walk instead of driving alone.) For more info, see: http://www.communitytransit.
- Giveaways & back-to-school-raffle sign-up
for the children who stop by
